Terms of Service
Last updated: October 11, 2026
1. Publisher
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Cronic platform, operated by:
- Publisher: Cronic
- Email: legal@cronic.team
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Cronic, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.
3. Service Description
Cronic is an AI-powered news and newsletter reading service, available as mobile apps (iOS and Android, in beta) and a web console. The service includes:
- Importing content from the sources you choose: newsletters (forwarded to your Cronic address or imported from a connected Gmail account), websites, RSS feeds, YouTube channels, podcasts and our curated catalog
- AI-generated summaries, daily briefs, digests and audio versions of your content
- AI agents you configure to follow topics and write briefs on a schedule or on demand
- Podcast generation from your briefs, and the ability to ask the hosts questions by voice or text during an episode
- Personalized feed, search, bookmarks and notifications
4. AI-Generated Content
Summaries, briefs, translations, answers and audio produced by Cronic are generated automatically by AI models from your sources. They may be incomplete or contain errors. Always refer to the original source before relying on any information, and do not use Cronic as a sole basis for financial, medical, legal or other professional decisions.
5. User Accounts
To use Cronic, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Providing accurate account information
- Only importing content you are entitled to access, and only connecting email accounts that you own
6. Subscriptions and Billing
Cronic offers a full 14-day trial, then a free tier (limited to 3 sources) and paid subscriptions. The current plans and prices are shown on our website and in the app before you subscribe. You may choose monthly or annual billing.
Subscriptions purchased in the iOS app
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID by Apple at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its own policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Subscriptions purchased on the web or on Android
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- You can cancel at any time with Manage Billing in the app (Settings → Subscription & Payments) or on the web console. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice. A price change applies from your next renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect. Deleting your Cronic account does not cancel an App Store subscription.
7. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of purchase, without giving any reason, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).
To exercise your right of withdrawal:
- App Store purchases: request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, as Apple is the seller of record for these purchases.
- Web and Android purchases: send a clear statement to legal@cronic.team within 14 days of your purchase. We will reimburse you within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal request, using the same payment method as your original transaction.
If you have explicitly requested that the service begins during the withdrawal period and you subsequently withdraw, you may be charged a proportionate amount for the service already provided.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use the service to transmit harmful or illegal content
- Resell or redistribute the service, or content obtained through it, without permission
9. Privacy
Your use of Cronic is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which describe how we collect, use, and protect your data in accordance with the GDPR.
10. Intellectual Property
The Cronic service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Cronic and protected by intellectual property laws. Content imported through the service remains the property of its respective authors and publishers and is made available to you for your personal use only.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using Cronic at any time and delete your account in the app (Settings → Security & Sessions → Delete account) or by emailing privacy@cronic.team (see our Help Center). Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cronic shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to them falls within the jurisdiction of the French courts, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you.
If you are an EU consumer, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. Nothing in this clause affects your rights as a consumer under mandatory local law, including the GDPR.
14. Dispute Resolution
We encourage you to contact us first at legal@cronic.team to resolve any dispute informally.
If you are an EU consumer and we are unable to resolve your complaint, you may refer it to a consumer mediator or to the competent courts of your country of residence. (The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform was closed in July 2025.)
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the service at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
